Bio-mineralization and crystallization. Both crystallization and mineralization of biological compartments lie at the heart of numerous diseases, which have plagued millions of people around the world. In other aspect, they are also key for successful production and engineering of biomaterials with desired functionalities. With the use of liquid cell transmission electron microscopy(TEM), we are trying to fully visualize and elucidate fundamental kinetics that governs crystallization processes of bio-molecules at different domains which include their aggregation, self-assembly, and interactions with other bodies.
